The national bed bug laundry journey has two parts: getting suitable affected textiles to specialist handling, and getting cleaned items back to an appropriate place. This guide concentrates on collection and return logistics. For the full service overview and household preparation checklist, use the existing guides linked below.
Confirm the collection postcode before planning around a slot
MyLaundress specialist bed bug laundry covers England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland where Uber courier collection is available for the postcode, confirmed when booking. Passenger Uber availability is not proof of courier availability. If an address needs more coordination or no suitable slot appears, send an enquiry rather than assuming the service cannot consider your area or that a slot is guaranteed.
National work uses coordinated local processing partners and couriers. London specialist laundry is processed at our separate North Tottenham facility; we do not claim every national load travels there. Ordinary laundry and everyday dry cleaning remain London services. Do not apply London's urgent specialist collection guidance as a fixed nationwide pickup time.
Agree both ends of the journey
- Give the collection postcode, item types, approximate volume and number of sealed bags.
- Identify the person handing over the bags and describe any shared entrance or access restriction.
- Confirm where cleaned textiles should return and who can receive them.
- Discuss any difference between collection and return addresses before booking; do not assume the form supports a change.
- Agree transport and processing timing before relying on a return date for a move, room reopening or care routine.
Make the sealed handover practical
Tell the service that the textiles are suspected or confirmed to be affected by bed bugs before collection. Agree bagging and labels, then keep bags sealed until the handover. Do not leave affected textiles loose in a communal hallway or combine them with an ordinary laundry order. A simple bag-count record helps you identify a missed bag without unpacking the load.
Separate washable bedding and clothing from garments with low-temperature or dry-clean-only instructions. The latter need assessment; collection does not establish that any garment can safely receive heat treatment. If an item is bulky or its label is unclear, ask about suitability before arranging transport.
Plan the return with property treatment
Ask your pest controller when and where cleaned textiles can be stored. Laundry treats suitable textiles and does not replace treating an infestation in the property. Returning bags to an untreated room or mixing cleaned items with belongings still awaiting treatment can undermine the wider plan. Keep returned items in their clean packaging and follow your pest controller's advice about unpacking.
Consider what bedding and clothing you need while the load is away. Confirm specialist service timing rather than assuming a calendar's delivery option guarantees a processing duration. If pest treatment is rescheduled, contact the laundry service before changing the return arrangement; no automatic storage or redelivery service is promised here.
Booking without assuming hidden preselection
Use the specialist booking button and select the appropriate specialist service in the existing booking form. Enter your postcode and confirm available arrangements there. Website guidance does not mean the MyLaundress app has preselected your service, postcode or courier route. For provider volumes or unusual access requirements, request a quote with the details instead of using an ordinary-laundry booking.
Collection and delivery questions
Does collection guarantee all items are suitable?
No. Care labels, textile condition and agreed handling determine suitability. Dry-clean-only or heat-sensitive garments require specialist assessment, not a universal treatment promise.
Can laundry confirm that the home is bed-bug-free?
No. Assessment and treatment of the property belong to pest control. Laundry is one textile-care part of that coordinated response.
